Founded in 2005, Gemstars Talent Cathy Carlson has been a professional songwriter with songs placed in Film & Television working with Chuck Tennin (Big Fish Music Group - LA) since 1995 & NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association Int'l in LA) 1996 - 2001 on Singer-Songwriter Workshops & Showcases and SGA (Songwriters Guild of American - LA) 1995-1998. Cathy co-wrote "Desire" for Patrick Swayze HBO Movie "Letters From A Killer" that he danced to and "Daddy Tried". "My Lucky Stars & Stripes" was given an Award by Laura Bush and featured on CMT & GMAC Country Music Television. "Woman In Charge" to be in "Aah Roach" Sci-Fi Movie with Barry Bostwick (Rocky Horror Picture Show". Cathy has won many CCMA - Song of the Year Awards & other songs in Film/TV. Cathy has written songs with Roger LaRocque & Grammy Award winning songwriter Joel Hirschhorn (co-writer with Al Kasha) on Believe Me. (Roger Produced Celine Dion) in Canada.

Cathy is a Professional Songwriter & Music Publisher with ASCAP since 1995. She also has worked on Celtic Harmony with IMRO (Irish Music Rights Organization) with Music Bridges and American & Irish Recording Artists in 1997 & Toured with MIN-ON Int'l Concert Assoc. (the 2nd Largest Concert Assoc. in the world working with UNESCO & The Route 66 Band) with Twin Sister as "The CC Twins" backup singers managed by Seymour Heller, Liberace's Manager. Cathy is listed as a cowriter as a Songwriter/co-Publisher  with 2 Dance Songs with Sidney Barnes & Pepper MaShay aka Sista Jean McClain & other songs on Pepper's new Album to be release in Spring 2024 & placed in Grammy Award winning competition with Pepper Mashay & Sidney Barnes (www.sidneybarnes.net)
