Sidney Barnes BIO:

Sidney Barnes is an American Soul recording artist, performer, song writer, record producer, music publisher, author, poet, sculpture, talent developer.
Sidney has been involved in the music industry since the early 1960's, and is currently included in over 150 various Album CD compilations world wide. In parts of the US, and abroad he is considered a living legend.
Sidney's big break came in 1962 when he and his Doo Wop singing group The Serenaders were discovered by Motown Records label owner Berry Gordy Jr. and signed to Motown Records and its publishing company Jobete Music. 

As a solo performer, or as the lead member of his late 1960's  interracial Soul/Rock group Rotary Connection, or as a member of the 50's and 60's hit R&B group The Fiestas, or an occasional performer with George Clinton's, Parliament/Funkadelic band. Sidney has shared the bill with many legendary artists including, Janis Joplin, Muddy Waters, Stevie Wonder, Moody Blues, Alice Cooper, The Rolling Stones,Little Richard, Chuck Berry, B.B. King, Al Green,The Smothers Bros., and many others.
His songs have been recorded by The Jackson 5, The Supremes, MuddyWaters, Rotary Connection, Bo Diddley, The Dramatics, Minnie Riperton, Parliament/Funkadelic, and many others. 

His songs have also appeared in movie soundtracks and radio; TV jingles. Sidney is one of the first and probably onlyR&B songwriter/producer/singer, to ever have a radio jingle become so popular that it was turned into a 45 RPM single and is currently a collectors favorite andfeatured on YouTube. 

Over the last several years Sidney has internationally released solo CD's on his own independent record label Barvada International.  In 2010 he had success with a UK released solo single "Standing On Solid Ground" which became a big hit on the Northern Soul scene abroad. In 2012 Sidney releasedhis Autobiography also entitled "Standing On Solid Ground". Sidney continues to write and record and currently has new music on Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, andother digital music platforms. Sidney and his buddy George Clinton continue to plan new projects together.

It has been documented that Sidney has played an important role in influencing the creative development of several major artists such as George Clinton, Elton John, Minnie Riperton, and Earth Wind & Fire, to name a few. Over the years Sidney has participated in many different genres including Funk, Rock, Pop, R&B, Reggae, Country, Psychedelic Rock and  even Disco. 

He has Just recently returned from another successful short solo concert tour in England where her recorded a new EP, Sidney has a large following with the Northern Soul crowd. As new artists continue to record his songs, Sidney is now ready to embark on his latest musical journey as a Jazz crooner, with a new 10 song Jazz CD called "Setting The Mood" to promote. A CD filled with some of the world's  most beloved Jazz Standards such as & "When Sunny Gets Blue" & "Angel Eyes", "Route 66","Days Of Wine and Roses", "Unforgettable" and more!! Sung in the styles of crooners like Nate King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, and others. He has created a Jazz concert geared towards the adults, the lovers, the old school music lovers, and the hip younger crowd. 

Accompanied by a small group of very creative and professionalJazz players, Sidney Barnes is prepared to present an evening of pure joy in music.
Sidney is also campaigning to raise money for several charities mainly St. Judes, and others. Also planning book promotional tours and speaking engagements, all related to his music!
